ചണ്ഡീഗഢ്- കാര്‍ഷിക നിയമങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ സമരം ചെയ്യുന്ന കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്ക് പിന്തുണ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് പഞ്ചാബിലെ ജയിലുകളുടെ ചുമതലയുള്ള ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ ജനറല്‍ (ഡിഐജി) ലഖ്മിന്ദര്‍ സിങ് ജാഖര്‍ സര്‍വീസില്‍ നിന്ന് രാജിവെച്ചു. സമാധാനപരമായി സമരം ചെയ്യുന്ന കര്‍ഷക സഹോദരങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം നില്‍ക്കാനുള്ള തീരുമാനമാണിതെന്നും ശനിയാഴ്ച പഞ്ചാബ് സര്‍ക്കാരിനു സമര്‍പ്പിച്ച രാജിക്കത്തില്‍ ഡിഐജി അറിയിച്ചു. സമരത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അറിയിച്ചു. അഴിമതി ആരോപണത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് നിലവില്‍ സസ്‌പെന്‍ഷനിലാണ് ലഖ്മിന്ദര്‍ സിങ്.
